Cemetery lettering

Cemetery lettering is the process of adding inscriptions, such as names, dates, or additional details, to an existing monument or marker in a cemetery. If you've purchased a pre-need monument and wish to customize it with specific inscriptions, we understand the importance of having a reliable and compassionate partner during this challenging time. Our goal is to ensure that the engraving of your grave marker is completed to your satisfaction.

Our cemetery lettering process is designed with your convenience in mind. In many cases, we can perform the lettering on-site at the cemetery without the need to remove the stone. However, if you prefer to engrave the back of an existing monument with a design, we may temporarily remove the stone and bring it back to our shop for the work. Be assured that we take great care to meticulously match the font, size, and spacing of the existing lettering to maintain a uniform appearance.

We offer several options for cemetery lettering, with the three most common being:

  1. Adding a Death Date: When incorporating a death date into your custom headstone, we ensure it harmonizes with the layout of the existing birth date, following the same format as the original date, such as "Nov. 1, 1900."

  2. Adding a Panel: If your stone features panels where names and dates are enclosed within a box or book, we match the appearance of the existing panel when adding a new name. This ensures a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing result.

  3. Inscribing a Panel: In situations where you've purchased a monument or marker for two people, but only one person has passed away, we can add a blank panel for future inscription. The layout of the new inscription within the blank panel will be carefully matched to the existing name and dates, maintaining a consistent and thoughtful appearance.

Our commitment is to provide a seamless and respectful process, recognizing the sensitivity of the situation, and prioritizing your satisfaction.
